Originally, tarot was not a divinatory system but a card game. Perhaps during these games the cards themselves hinted to the more observant players how the gamble might end, and over time the two worlds began to merge. Or perhaps it was witches who saw the potential in playing cards, recognizing in them a parallel with the game of life. In contrast, oracles were originally spoken. They were acts of channeling, a search for answers, like the Oracle of Delphi.
The piece unfolds like a board game open to anyone who wants to play with it alone, being a sort of self-service oracle. The instructions are simple and are delivered by a die, while the archetypes of the cards begin to appear, gradually creating a collective game.
